Collection includes letters from, to or relating to Ellis Ames and his wife Harriet Tucker; and legal papers (wills, transfers of property, quit-claim deeds, attatchments, etc.) cheifly relating to cities and towns in Norfolk, Plymouth and Bristol counties (Mass.), and to members of the Ames family of Bridgewater, MA - used by Ames in the lawsuits which he represented.
